Eaton Expands Availability Of Tire Pressure Control

The Eaton Tire Pressure Control system is now available from more truck manufacturers.
Previously only offered on Kenworth and Ford vehicles, it can now also be spec’d on trucks built by Peterbilt, Volvo GM, Mack, and Western Star.
The driver-operated system adjusts and controls tire pressures to match the terrain while a vehicle is moving or stationary. The pressure is regulated through a series of electro-pneumatic controls that feed air to each wheelend through wheel valves.
Eaton says lowering tire pressure in off-road areas can increase traction of a 6x4 vehicle up to 60%.
