Department of Energy Offers Info On Alternative Fuel Vehicles

The U.S. Department of Energy now offers an information kit designed to help truck operators understand federal legislation regarding Alternative-Fuel Vehicles. The campaign is designed to educate consumers about the nation’s petroleum consumption and to encourage a switch to alternative energy sources.
The AFV package features color-coded brochures discussing such topics as what legislative mandates require, who must comply and when, which AFV options make the most sense for particular applications, frequently asked questions and AFV case studies.
For current news and information on AFVs contact the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Alternative Fuels Hotline, (800) 423-1DOE, or visit DOE’s internet sites: www.eren.doe.gov/office/transportation/ and www.afdc.doe.gov/.
