Spicer Orange Linings Suit Severe Service
Spicer Orange, a line of friction material for severe service applications, has been introduced by the Drivetrain Service Div. of Dana Corp. The material has a gross axle weight rating capacity of up to 23,000 pounds, achieved by incorporating a semi-metallic block on the cam end of the shoes with Spicers RED XLS block on the anchor end.
Designed for the service life and braking performance needed for applications such as logging, concrete hauling, bulk hauling, refuse service and other vocations that often encounter frequent stop-and-go driving, the material can also contribute to more reduced drum wear when compared to brake shoes with full metallic linings. The material is available through all authorized Spicer warehouse distributors of DSD and through Volvo and Paccar dealers in the United States and Canada. Additional OEMs are expected to be added to the program in coming months.
