ONLINE DOCK SCHEDULING

      Atlanta-based CarrierPoint, an Internet logistics company, has introduced DockMaster, a web-based dock-scheduling tool. DockMaster is integrated with CarrierPoint online transportation markets and is also available as a stand-alone product.
      DockMaster allows shippers and consignees to schedule pickups and deliveries by their selected carriers automatically or interactively. The system can also be used to pre-assign specific loading doors.
      Dock activity data can be collected to establish performance benchmarks and to measure carrier on-time performance. In multilocation facilities, reports can measure performance from location to location for process improvement and asset utilization analysis.
      DockMaster can be purchased or rented over the Internet in an ASP (Application Service Provider) model.
