Reman Freightliner Century Class DayCab

Freightliner's used truck division has introduced a factory-reconfigured Century Class DayCab. Available exclusively at SelecTrucks Centers and Freightliner dealers, the new product is a used daycab truck that has been transformed from a Century Class SleeperCab. It is different from a typical daycab in that it has a mid-roof-height cab roof and an extended cabin.
Inside, there is additional headroom that allows for an overhead console as in the SleeperCab.
The Century cab is about 10 inches longer than a typical daycab, providing over 9.5 inches of additional space behind the seats. This allows for additional space for storing tools, personal belongings and other equipment. There also is more seat travel, giving the driver up to 2 inches more belly room and allowing for the seat back to be reclined further.
A large 20" x 36" tinted rear window is installed to maximize rear visibility.
Outside, the front and side sunvisor components are from the SleeperCab, providing protection from sun glare and heat loading. Side extenders are standard. If the used truck being converted originally had chassis fairings, they can be left on, or at the customer's request, removed and replaced with fuel tank steps.
As with all Freightliner factory-reconfigured DayCabs, the cab, hood, frame, and chassis are prepped, masked off and painted.
Customers also can choose from a number of additional appearance or mechanical options. Appearance options include a new grille, premium detail, new aluminum wheels, new steel quarter fenders and others. Mechanical options include new tires, new belts and coolant hoses, new batteries, new rear brakes shoes, new remanufactured starter, new remanufactured alternator, new clutch, new remanufactured transmissions, new engine brake and more.

Continuous Oil Change

Engineered Machined Products is making available its continuous oil change product that has previously been sold exclusively through diesel engine manufacturers. Called Oil Mate, it can significantly extend oil change intervals to a claimed 525,000 miles while extending filter life to 100,000 miles. This obviously decreases maintenance downtime and is claimed actually to lengthen the engine life.
The oil management system removes a small amount of used engine oil and blends it with diesel fuel to be burned during combustion. The used oil is then replaced with an equal amount of fresh oil from a make-up tank, extending oil and filter use.
Claimed to outperform competitive systems, Oil Mate is currently used and certified as the Cummins Centinel system and operates fully within emissions guidelines.

Digital Lighting

Claimed the next step in LED lighting, the pure digital lighting technology, Digibulb, is a 2 1/2" and 2" heavy-duty side marker.
The light is said to be purely digital and not to contain any LED diodes. There is nothing to shake loose or break and is tested to meet FMVSS108 requirements. The light is sealed and has a polycabronate lens and housing. It operates at 12.8 V DC and consumes less than 0.04 amps. The lights come in red or amber color
