Lightweight Two-Axle International

The International 5900i tractor has been released as a 4x2 for rugged on/off-highway applications.
According to Navistar International, the 120-in. BBC features a 12,000-lb. capacity front axle with parabolic taper leaf front suspension and a Meritor 23,000-lb. rear axle with a Hendrickson HAS 230 rear air suspension. The set-forward axle has Sheppard M-100 power steering and standard power is a Cummins ISM rated 350 hp and 1,350 lbs.-ft torque backed by an Eaton Fuller 10-speed overdrive transmission featuring "C" ratios.
To meet the demands of the construction environment, the tractor has stronger hood hinges. Optional features include a chrome-plated gull wing bumper, dual vertical chrome exhaust and tail pipes, mirror-finished stainless steel quarter fenders, dual polished aluminum fuel tanks and a bright-finish exterior sunshade. The 5900i tractor features the same new interiors introduced in March on the 5000i Series.
The Eagle package offers distinctive ivory gauges, a digital odometer and fuel miles per gallon readout and new wood grain accenting on cab doors and instrument panel. Convenience is enhanced with a drink and CD holder next to the passenger seat, and cleaning is easier with rubber floor matting.
