Keep Tabs On Your Safety Profile

      It is important to know what information FMCSA has about your safety performance. The information is available to anyone -- including customers, insurance companies and the press -- and it is in your best interest to make sure the agency has it right.
      If you have access to the Internet, go to the agency's web site at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov. There you will find links to a variety of safety information systems:
      • Analysis and Information Online (http://ai.volpe.dot.gov) offers access to several data bases, including SafeStat (http://ai.volpe.dot.gov/SafeStat), which details each company's safety performance and provides its SafeStat score.
      • The Safety and Fitness Electronic Records System (http://www.safersys.org), which offers a snapshot of a company's safety record, plus information on insurance and registration, in addition to access to SafeStat.
