Tire Failure Analysis Guide

      At the mid-October meeting of the Technology and Maintenance Council, a technical session was presented by the Wheel and Tire Study Group on the newly updated Radial Tire Condition Analysis Guide.
      The third and latest edition of this industry reference, it includes 35 new failure conditions to help tire maintenance staff identify radial tire problems. As part of the update, the four-color guide features new photography throughout to clarify the different conditions.
      The guide still has to go to ballot and complete the TMC publishing process. But it is anticipated that the guide ­ at 200-plus pages, or a on a CD ROM ­ will be published in the first half of next year. For TMC members it will be $79, $95 for non-members.
