Peterbilt's New Model 379X

      Making its debut at the Mid-America Trucking Show was Peterbilt's new Model 379X.
      "The Model 379X embodies the owner-operator spirit of independence, freedom and individuality," said Nick Panza, general manager and Paccar vice president.
      Polished aluminum-on-chrome special edition themes are incorporated into every detail of the truck, from the special edition logos on the sleeper sides to the X-spoke design of the steering wheel.
      The Model 379X exterior is equipped with exclusive design accents and chrome exterior accessories, including:
      • Unique, polished aluminum fenders
      • Polished aluminum centerline hood trim
      • Coordinating, punched "Peterbilt oval" grille and air cleaner intake screen
      • Polished aluminum grille bars
      • 7-inch chromed exhaust stacks
      • LED auxiliary lighting for the cab, sleeper, air cleaner and rear light-bar assembly
      • Chromed Texas-style bumper
      • Extended stainless steel sunvisor
      • Model 379X special edition logos on each side of the sleeper
      Model 379X interior features include:
      • Brushed aluminum dash panels
      • Coordinating brushed aluminum cab and sleeper trim
      • Stylized, four-spoke, "X-style" steering wheel
      • Custom leather UltraRide seats
      • Chromed shift lever, knob and base plate with the Model 379X logo
      • Charcoal cabinetry and interior trim
      "The Model 379X has show truck-winning elements, inside and out," says Dan Sobic, assistant general manager. "Its unique features and special-edition status will only enhance the already industry-leading resale value of the Model 379."
      Production begins in September.
