ArvinMeritor Now Offers Landing Gear
ArvinMeritor will offer landing gear models rated at 110,000 lbs., 132,000 lbs. and 176,000 lbs. static capacity. The new designs have easy-to-crank telescoping legs, a sealed gearbox requiring no additional grease, and a variety of shoe styles, all designed to be simple to change.
Taylor Made Auxiliary Cooling/Heating System Taylor Made Environmental is offering a series of auxiliary truck air-conditioning systems. The systems consist of a 14,000 BTU condensing unit mounted in the truck's undercarriage, and a 16,000 BTU ductable cooling/heating unit in the sleeper. All system functions are managed by a microprocessor control system.
The reverse-cycle heat-pump condensing unit provides integrated heating and cooling, while supplemental electric heat strips in the cooling/heating unit provide additional heating capacity. Alternatively, the system can work with a DC-voltage diesel-fired heater, when installed. The auxiliary truck AC system is designed to work with various electrical power sources.
Castrol Fifth-Wheel Grease
Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease's graphite/moly formulation and high percent of tackifiers give it a true affinity for metal surfaces. It provides protection for extended fifth wheel life.
Castrol says its grease has excellent adhesive properties and it is available in kegs, pails and eight-ounce squeeze tubes. The tubes can be used for one-time application or as needed between scheduled maintenance services. This packaging also prevents mess and waste.
Fleetguard NOx Reduction Retrofit System
The Longview system is a new technology for reducing oxides of nitrogen (NOx) coupled with particulate matter (PM) reduction capability.
This system will be distributed throughout North America by Fleetguard Emission Solutions and is currently available for on-road use.
Phillips 66 Oil Meets New CI-4 Specs
Phillips 66 Super HD II oil now exceeds American Petroleum Institute's new CI-4 specification. The oil's improved viscosity control reduces thickening and filter clogging despite heavier soot loads, and also maintains 10W start-up viscosity.
Super HD II offers multigrade oil performance, including a balance of low viscosity for easy cold-weather starts and high-viscosity wear protection. The oil is available in single grades, SAE 10W through SAE 50, and in multigrades SAE 10W-30 & 15W-40.
Eaton VORAD Tamper Option
The Tamper Detection option to Eaton's EVT-300 collision warning system is powered by Qualcomm Inc., and provides real-time notification of any vehicle tampering issues.
Tampering with system sub-units, including the CPU, also can be detected. When tampering is detected, a message is sent from the truck over the Qualcomm OmniTracs system.
Stemco Bearings
Stemco now offers additional radial ball bearings, light/medium duty tapered roller bearing sets, clutch release bearings, individual cups and cones, and Platinum Matched Bearing sets.
The bearing program consists of tapered roller cups, tapered roller cones, radial ball bearings and matched tapered roller sets (cups and cones). Bearing sets are touted for their ease of use and the ability to be added into the Stemco Platinum Performance System for an extended warranty.
Vital Chek
Vital Chek's new trucking permit application solution is called PermitWizard Online. This web-based application allows fleets to apply for multiple state oversize and overweight permits using a single online application form. PermitWizard Online directly submits it to the appropriate state agencies. Permits are delivered to the requesting trucker upon approval.

The Meteorlite high-intensity LumiBlast LED warning light system offers a wide-angle coherent beam of light in a sleek package. Each light head has a precision twin lens optic system with a six-emitter super high power LED module. The light comes in amber, blue, red and white.
Old World Industries Final Charge Global Extended Life
Final Charge coolant/antifreeze is formulated for use in all heavy-duty engines, including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, MTU and Caterpillar. The coolant features a patented Organic Acid Technology (OAT) formula that delivers cooling system protection for 600,000 miles of on-road use (six years or 12,000 hours of off-highway use) without the use of supplemental coolant additives (SCAs). The only maintenance required is the addition of Final Charge Extender at 300,000 to 400,000 miles. The coolant does not contain silicates, nitrites, borates or phosphates.
CSI Wireless Trailer Tracking Device
Fleet-Link is a tracking and reporting device for remotely managing tractor trailers and other mobile assets and cargo.
An extension of the company's Asset-Link family of fleet-tracking and telematics products, the GPS- and cellular-equipped Fleet-Link can function using the truck's power system or using solar power — enabling untethered or unpowered trailers to continue reporting their status for up to 60 days without any external electrical source.
The system can signal when a trailer has been untethered, where a hazardous load is, when an alarm system has been disabled, when a refrigeration unit's temperature is out of the safe range, or when a load has made an unscheduled start or stop.
East Lite-RideSuspension Hanger
The Lite-Ride aluminum suspension hanger solves the problems of heavy, rust-prone steel hangers by introducing a field-tested lightweight aluminum hanger. It's available in a bolt-on version for most aluminum frame trailers, and well as an integrated weld-on option for East Frameless dump trailers. It saves more than 150 pounds per tandem, and the integrated weld-on option for frameless trailers is 370 lbs. lighter than current steel hanger assemblies.
Optima YellowTop
The new Group 31 YellowTop high-performance lead-acid battery features spiral-cell technology. This six-pack design holds six compressed spiral-wound cells. The rugged battery is designed for vibration resistance and temperature insensitivity. Optima says it's leakproof, spillproof and mountable is almost any position.
Shell Gear Lubricants
Shell Lubricants has expanded its family of heavy-duty lubricants with the introduction of SPIRAX EW Extended Warranty SAE 75W-90 and 80W-140 gear oils.
The new mineral-based gear oils meet the extended warranty requirements of heavy-duty axles manufactured by Dana, ArvinMeritor and Mack.
The gear oils are now approved for 500,000-mile extended drain intervals for both Dana axles and Meritor axles equipped with pump and filter systems. The lubricants also are approved for use in Mack axles at 250,000-mile drains. The approvals allow for both service-fill and factory-fill at the same change interval specified for approved synthetic fluids, and still qualify for Dana and Meritor 750,000-mile extended warranty coverage.
The gear oils are formulated using a combination of high quality Group II base oils and additive technology to provide outstanding thermal and oxidative stability, superior extreme temperature operation, and reduced component wear.
