Getting The Best Use Out Of A Breakdown Service

  1. The faster the breakdown service knows about an incident, the faster it can get the truck back on the road.
  2. Make sure the information in your profile maintained by the breakdown company is complete, updated and current, including equipment details, warranty information and national accounts.
  3. When drivers call in, they should have as much specific information available as possible, such as exact location, identifying info (truck number, VIN, engine serial number) and a description of the problem, including information such as engine check lights or codes.
  4. Take advantage of the reports provided to improve your preventive maintenance program.
