Inaccuracies In IT Story
Penske Truck Leasing wanted to make you aware of some inaccuracies in your article "IT Becomes a Truck Leasing Option" in Heavy Duty Trucking's September 2004 issue.
In the first paragraph under the header "The Roots of Precision Plus," the article stated that Penske's Precision Plus product is simply a XATANET unit with a different name. In reality, Precision Plus offers a great deal of functionality above and beyond the functionality XATANET can provide as a stand-alone product. Penske integrated XATA applications with its own vehicle and back-office applications to create a comprehensive fleet management system that provides optimized fleet performance and productivity.
Precision Plus includes Fleet I.Q., a Web-based fleet management system accessed through Penske's proprietary extranet, "My Fleet @ Penske." Fleet I.Q. integrates XATA and ORBCOMM systems with Penske's extranet to access critical performance data including Vehicle Start/Stop Reports, MPG Performance Reports, Vehicle Location, Accident Reconstruction, Paperless Fuel Tax Reporting and Driver Logs, and Driver Communications. Data is instantly transmitted to My Fleet @ Penske where fleet managers can analyze the up-to-the-minute information necessary to monitor and manage a more productive fleet.
The article's closing paragraph also reiterated that Penske Precision Plus and XATANET are the same product with different names. As noted above, that is not the case.
We know your goal is to provide accurate information, and we want to ensure that the description of our product is clear to your readers.
Sincerely,
Louise F. Moyer
