Peterbilt Showcases St. Therese Facility at 335 Startup

The new model 335 medium-duty Peterbilt, introduced earlier this year at the Mid-America Trucking Show, is produced at the company's plant in St. Therese, Quebec.
Peterbilt recently invited a group of writers to tour the newly refurbished plant and see the new trucks in production, as well as drive a cross-section of the new model lineup.
The 335 is a 330 medium with a facelift, featuring the same cab and chassis, but a totally new and very practical interior. The stylish hood shares many of the same styling cues as the big aero 387. It also shares a similar material for the hood - Metton, which is press molded for excellent surface quality and almost indestructible toughness.
This makes the second time HDT has driven the 335, but trips around the plant's perimeter road in single- and tandem-axle production trucks showed the 335 is a tough, no-nonsense truck.
This Pete can handle medium and heavy distribution tasks from the top end of Class 6 to Class 8 at as much as 54,000 pounds on-highway.
This diversification calls for a wide variety of spec's and components, and St. Therese is well positioned to satisfy that requirement. After all, it won Les Grands Prix Quebecois de la Qualite award as one of the top quality manufacturers in Quebec Province.
The plant, which also makes T800s, is bright and light and features the latest in statistical quality control and computer-controlled tooling.
