The hottest trucks in America will compete at Mid-America Trucking Show.

      More than 120 heavy duty trucks will be competing for trophies, prizes, cash and bragging rights March 31-April 2 at the Stars and Stripes Show Truck Series.
      The 2005 edition of the Paul K. Young Memorial Truck Beauty Championship will be a major highlight of the Mid-America Trucking Show at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center in Louisville.
      The hottest working trucks on America's highways will be competing side by side with spectacular fleet show trucks, specialty rigs and limited service beauties for three excitement-filled days.
      New to the show this year is the first-ever Mid-America's Big-Rig Build-Off featuring wickedly customized rides from six of the industry's top builders, fabricators and designers.
      Build-Off participants will be K&L Chrome Shop, Elizabeth Truck Center, 4 State Trucks, Rod Pickett Custom Trucks, Langevin Transport and Quality Custom.
      Uninhibited and unlimited, these beauties will show off the latest products and design concepts for big-rig customization. Truckers interested in creating one-of-kind show-worthy rides will be able to get up close and take home lots of ideas.
      These entries will be judged by public voting all day Thursday, Friday and up to noon on Saturday.
      Best of Show Working Bobtail and Combo, and Best Limited Mileage Class Bobtail and Combo winners will take home $500 cash along with beautiful Waterford crystal custom trophies on solid wood and brass bases, created exclusively for this event by Rockwood Products.
      The awards ceremony for the Truck Beauty Championship will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Build-Off winners will be announced in the show lot at l:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
      Sponsoring the Stars & Stripes Show Truck Events in 2005 are Chevron DELO, Peterbilt Motors Co., Freightliner LLC, International, Newport's RoadStar magazine, OOIDA, Rockwood Products, Alcoa Wheel Products, Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Co., PPG Industries, Howes Lubricator, and Arvin-Meritor.
      Also participating this year are Valley Chrome Plating, Road Works Manufacturing Inc., Truk-Rodz by Jones Performance, Dieter's, White Diamond Metal Polish, Rig Skirts, Donaldson Co., The Holland Group and Panelite.
      Show sponsors will host displays inside the hospitality tent on the show grounds. There is no charge for admission and all displays are open to the public.
