SLEEPERS OFFER ENHANCED COMFORT
Peterbilt will be offering new sleeper interiors with numerous productivity and comfort enhancements.
The new interiors will be available for Peterbilt's 63-, 48- and 36-inch detachable Unibilt sleepers. The 63- and 48-inch sleepers will be available in two trim levels, Platinum and Prestige, and the 36-inch sleeper will be available in Prestige. Sleeper interiors will be precisely matched to the quality fit and finish of the new cabs.
Each size sleeper and the two interior trim levels have been optimized for the typical requirements and operation of the customers to which they will appeal. For instance, the 63- inch sleeper combines the styling and amenities that will appeal to over-the-road drivers while providing fleets with a lighter-weight alternative to Peterbilt's premium 70-inch sleeper.
The 48- and 36-inch sleepers combine the desired driver living and working requirements for regional haul and vocational fleets that are using sleepers to satisfy overall length and hours of service regulations.
Both the Platinum and Prestige trim levels provide a more contemporary look and feature upgraded materials and amenities. The Platinum level will provide operators with the most luxurious environments in which to work and live, and incorporate woodgrain accents and embroidery. The Prestige level sleepers provide cost-effective comfort and durability, ideal for vocational customers looking to minimize maintenance requirements.
The 63- and 48-inch sleepers are equipped with two tall closets that can accommodate full-length garments. Side and rear wall storage space has been increased.
In the Platinum level, storage areas are secured with doors featuring woodgrain accents that complement the woodgrain trim used in select cabs. Prestige level sleepers use netting to help keep cargo in place.
Both sleepers feature a tilt-assisted liftable bunk with abundant storage space below that is also accessible from the exterior baggage door. A soft-touch bunk-end tray has been added to keep smaller personal items safely secured and out of the way.
In the high-roof versions, a new adjustable shelf will accommodate a larger range of televisions or microwaves, as well as optimize available storage space.
Sleeper lighting has been enhanced. Xenon overhead lighting provides the high-roof sleepers with soft illumination that can help reduce eye fatigue. Directional reading lights help drivers focus light to their needs. An integrated control panel is conveniently located near the head of the bunk, putting controls for the clock, audio system, lighting, and bunk heating and air conditioning within easy reach.
An optional business center, previously available only with the 70-inch sleeper, can be specified for the new 63- inch sleeper. The business center includes a pull-out work station for writing or using a laptop computer, removable file storage and other convenient storage areas for office supplies.
A color-matched refrigerator option is now available with the 63-inch sleeper and features ergonomic, eye-level access.
Optional side windows will be available with the 63-inch sleeper for additional lighting and illumination.
The new sleepers will be available in early 2007.
