Ford
One of the main players in this segment, Ford covers it primarily with its redesigned-for-'08 SuperDuty conventionals in 2-door Regular, 4-door Super and 4-door Crew cabs. They include the F-350 and F-450 pickups, and F-450 and F-550 cab-chassis trucks (shown). There's also the strictly commercial LCF low-cab-forward truck it gets from its Blue Diamond joint venture with International. Along with the lighter F-250, the F-350/450/550 use the 6.4-liter, 350-horsepower Power Stroke diesel or Triton gasoline V-8 (5.4 liters, 300 horsepower) and V-10 (6.8 liters, 362 horsepower), all mated to Ford's TorqShift 5-speed automatic. The latest Power Stroke is double turbocharged and makes up to 650 pounds-feet of torque. The Class 3 and 4 LCF use a 4.5-liter, 200-horsepower V-6 diesel and the TorqShift automatic.
